CINEXIC

Program to promote children’s cinema in Catalan throughout the territory

CineXic is a regular family film programme in Catalan. Each month, a film is screened through a tour of cinemas throughout the territory, a stable circuit of venues that are committed to Catalan cinema for the whole family. High quality productions reach places in Catalonia where until now they did not have access. The films, mostly European, are aimed at family audiences with children between 3 and 12 years old.

Òmnium Cultural promotes this project with the collaboration of MODIband and Drac Màgic, who have designed the programming, managed the rights, and distributed the films through Rita & Luca Films and Pack Màgic.

Film season for children at the community centres of Barcelona

Petit Cineclub is a family film season organised at Barcelona’s community centres (centres cívics) as part of the city’s Cultural District programme. The result is a monthly date that enables children in the different neighbourhoods of the city to discover quality films. These movies are not only entertaining, but also educational, artistic, varied, and designed to enable young and old alike to give free rein to their imagination, as well as transmitting positive values. The Petit Cineclub programme features animated films from around the world, presented by a very special character in the most enjoyable way to help young viewers to discover the magic of the cinema. Apart from taking part in activities before and after the screening, spectators also take home with them a sheet with more suggestions of things to do related to the film they have just seen. MODIband curates the programme, manages film rights, coordinates sessions with the community centres, organises the presentations and prepares written content linked to each film.
